Despite some strange alcohol regulations (liquor may not be served after midnight on Saturday), Grand Cayman nightlife is hot. If you are looking for live music or bar promotions, be sure to skim the Friday edition of the Caymanian Compass. Here is where you will find the best nightlife on Grand Cayman. The O Bar is Cayman’s premier nightclub and lounge. Located in Queen’s Court Plaza on West Bay Road, this trendy club and lounge is open from ten p.m. to three a.m., Monday through Friday. Live DJ’s keep the dance floor filled, while expert bartenders keep the party sizzling - literally. They throw flames between juggling bottles and mixing drinks. If you have a large group, consider reserving the upper-level private loft. For photographs and updated promotions and events, check out O Bar’s website at http://www.obar.ky/.
Above O Bar, you will find the Attic. Attic is a trendy sports bar with large screen televisions to catch the big game. They also have three billiard tables. Give them a call at (345) 949-7665 for more information.
If you enjoy outdoor beach bars (and who doesn’t?), be sure to check out Royal Palms, also on West Bay Road. On Friday and Saturday nights, local bands play live. This is also a great place to kick back and relax (or recover) on a Sunday afternoon. Their telephone number is (345) 945-6358.
A more casual outdoor beach bar is Calico Jack’s, located at the north end of Public Beach. Calico Jack’s offers live music, DJ’s, even an open-mic night. Give them a call at (345) 945-7850.
Next Level is a Grand Cayman nightlife hot spot, located on West Bay Road between the Hyatt and Westin. Next Level offers an exciting dance scene and is adjacent to the Aqua Beach Bar. Call Next Level at (345) 946-6398 for their live band schedule.
For a more mellow experience, check out the Bamboo Lounge at the Hyatt Regency, or the Sapphire Lounge in the back of the Seven Mile Shops strip mall. Sapphire Lounge specializes in martinis and they offer plenty of different kinds - all of them good. And their sushi is addictive. Give Sapphire Lounge a ring at (345) 925-7449.
