My New Auto Purchase

Internet Car Buying was Easier Than I Thought

October 23, 2007 - Recently, I was faced with the daunting challenge of buying a new automobile. My wife wanted a new auto. What to buy? Where to buy it? What's the best price? The last time I purchased a new auto from a new auto dealer was in 1996. I remember that as being a very time
consuming and frustrating experience. Now in 2007, I really did not want to relive my old memories. Then, I read about the experiences of other people who purchased their new automobiles using the Internet. They claimed Internet auto buying was an efficient, economical, and enjoyable method of purchasing a new auto. I was so convinced; I purchased my wife's new auto using the Internet. Purchasing a new automobile using the Internet was a wonderful experience.

Shopping for a new automobile was quick and easy using the Internet. All the auto manufacturers have web sites listings all their models, colors, options, and base prices. I quickly "surfed" the manufacturer's web sites and obtained all the specific details about the particular autos I was interested in. My wife particularly liked the 2007 Inferno Red, Chrysler PT Cruiser. From the Chrysler website, I was easily able to select the model, color, options, and dealer location for the 2007 PT Cruiser. While at the web site, a simple form quickly gathered the information about the vehicle I was interested in. Soon after the form was submitted, I received a reply from the dealer I selected, HB Chrysler. The next day my wife and I were at HB Chrysler to inspect and test-drive the 2007 PT Cruiser. This was my first visit to a prospective dealer and the meeting lasted less than one hour. My wife decided this was the new auto she wanted. Within hours of my visit to HB Chrysler I received a "no haggle" price from them via email; it was a very good price. I quickly checked other dealer's web sites for a better price. There were none. I decided this was the new auto for my wife. The entire process of selecting, inspecting, and pricing a new auto took about eight hours using the Internet; several days less than my 1996 new auto buying experience.
