It is important to have rules and regulations in schools. Sometimes school officials get a little carried away by their restrictions and penalties. Here is a list of examples:

1. No running or walking in the hallways during class. You may sit on the floor, however.

2. No cell phones, MP3 players, video games, or hearing aids.

3. No picking your nose unless it is done in the bathroom. Also, do not pick at your acne at anytime.

4. No eating or drinking food in class. Breathing is fine, but keep it to a minimum.

5. Eat all your food in the lunchroom. No exceptions. If you must feel sick, please vomit off the school premises.

6. Only school uniforms are acceptable. White is the perfect color all year round.

7. No swearing or sweating. We don't want to hear it or smell it.

8. Keep your hands to yourself. Touch anyone else and serve two days in detention.

9. No peanut products allowed. Also, no bread, no fruit, no milk, no snacks, and no lunch meat. We're serious about the subject of dieting.

10. Restroom breaks are allowed once a day. If you really have to go, get a permission slip with three signatures.

LOL...Something's wrong with this picture. We're talking t-shirts tucked in, sitting in the corner or coatroom for speaking out of turn. What about the weapons and drugs???? LOL I think they need MORE rules! hehehehe I can think of a few.

lol some of those are rediculous aren't they? when I was in Jr. High here, they made us wear our shirts tucked in every day, I thought that was a little much. We were just kids, come on, ya gotta understand its in a kids nature to be sloppy.

We didn't have cell phones or MP3 players back in my day (hearing aids were allowed though, so I hope that you weren't serious on that one). You dressed neatly and conservatively and you showed respect toward the teachers. (Yes, I am talking about public school) You weren't allowed to bring calculators into math class, that was considered cheating. There was no eating in class, and you needed a hall pass to go to the bathroom. We didn't have computers, we had encyclopedias. If you misbehaved, then you were sent to the principals office, and your parents were called. I survived it, and I turned out just fine (so I hope). Kids today have it too easy.

I guess I am even older than I thought. As a kid growing up in Boston, these rules seem both reasonable and unnecessary! We were not allowed to wear jeans (called dungarees back then,) tennis shoes (known as sneakers back in the 50's or tee shirts. Any disrespect was not tolerated and kids spent time in the corner or in the rear coat area for speaking out of turn. Strangely enough, it neither hurt me nor f=damaged my education or perspective -so far as I can tell.
