Many writers do not realize how important it is to write in such a way that it is Internet friendly. The Internet is different than the writing assignments that you had in high school or even in your early years of college. Freelance writing means adapting your style to make money on the Internet. Freelance writers that switch to writing Internet friendly articles, will find that they can increase their potential earnings.

You will hear people on Associated Content tell you that poetry is not worth posting. Poetry will get you the least number of page views and even hurt your page view ratios. You have to have articles that are loaded with keyword phrases and on hot search topics to get a good solid page view ranking for this type of Internet medium.

Are these people wrong? I'm going to share with you some secret tips that I learned for submitting poetry to get increased page views and earn more performance payment bonus money. You can increase your page views with poetry and a little additional work before you hit the publish button on your work.

Change Your Publication Title

Often people will use the title of the poem as the publication title. It's our gut instinct to do this. We worked hard on our poetry and want everything to match.

Stop using the title of the poem as your publication title. Your publication title is the text box you type in title. You want a title that will include the word poetry or poem. You also want a title that is catchy but includes a keyword phrase.

For example, if I write a poem called, "I Love Chocolate", I would not use that for my publication title. I could use, Confession of a Chocolate Addiction Poem. Haiku Poem about Chocolate Obsession.

Do you see how writing your publication title will affect the number of people that will click on your article title to read it?

Use Your Poem Title in the Text Body

Use your poem title in the text body of your submission. When you fill in the text body of your submission, this where you put your poem and its title. You don't lose the originality of your work. It just belongs in that section instead of the publication title.

Writing the Poem is Not Enough

Thanks, you really have some wonderful ideas here on how to increase page views for poetry that I hadn't even thought about. The paragraph into- brilliant, and I wasn't even aware you could select more than one category.

Great article! One reason I don't publish poems anymore is because I didn't think it was worth it and also because I want to publish them elsewhere for more money. This article is great though. :)

Great info. As with Patricia, I am learning the fine art of Internet writing, and it is certainly a different attack than print work!

Thanks for the tips, especially about multiple categories. I've tried to do that, but never tried using the CTRL key.

I am being dragged kicking and screaming into this internet writing thing. I am a creative writer. I write humor, memoirs, personal experiences, and am working on some fiction pieces. That is what I do well. But in order to make money here, I am forced to take CFCs for informational pieces, recipes, or things I am not really interested in. Very few of the CFCs appeal to me, but I have managed to claim a few. I guess I should just be glad that my writing is being read instead of returned to me in self-addressed, stamped envelopes!

I did not know that you could use the "highlights" to increase keyword density. Lots of fabulous info here, even for us non-poet types :)

I wouldn't recommend putting the things incorrectly into categories. You put them based on the theme of the poem.
