The BET Awards usually feature a lot of partying and a fair share of electric performances by the honored stars. This year's version of the BET Awards was no different, as some of the biggest music and movie stars of the African-American community came together. The BET Awards were showcases for some of today's biggest stars while honoring some longtime stars and getting some plugs in for Barack Obama along the way. The likes of T-Pain, Lil Wayne and Alicia Keys also got their share of glory at the BET Awards as well.

T-Pain won for best collaboration for his song "The Good Life" with Kayne West. After they accepted their award,, T-Pair teamed up for several performances with other nominees, including Lil Wayne as they sang "Lollipop" to end the BET Awards. Lil Wayne didn't go home empty handed, winning the viewer's choice award for "Lollipop." Lil Wayne performed the hit song despite the occasional mute from censors.

Alicia Keys won the BET award for Best Female R&B singer. She also got fans on their feet when she sang with the likes of SWV, En Vogue and TLC to perform their biggest hits. Chris Brown took home the male prize for Best Male R&B singer.

Al Green was the recipient of the BET Lifetime Achievement Award, even performing some of his hits like "Let's Stay Together" and "Love and Happiness" as the crowd sung along. Quincy Jones was presented the BET Humanitarian Award by Queen Latifah.

Barack Obama's name was frequently mentioned, although he did not make a surprise appearance. The likes of Sean Combs, Alicia Keys, host D.L Hughley, Quincy Jones and others mentioned Obama or tried to get out the vote for him during the show.
