DIY: How to Install Interior French Doors

French doors are an elegant addition to any house. They typically consist of doors that open from the center and are mostly made of wood. First you will need to measure the opening for the interior French doors. If you're changing the size, you will need to allow room for the extra framing. Then you can shop for the doors. Once you receive the doors, it's time to start putting them in. You will need to remove the doors and all its contents and be sure to read over any directions included before installing the doors. However, be sure not to remove any clips included or prehinged. You will need these.

Start by using caulk along the floor where the sill will be. Press it into place securely. From the outside, or from the other side of the door depending where you're placing them, make sure the door is centered from the opening and lean it up into place.
