Before I get into my astrological forecast for the 2008 Olympics, I wanted to bring to your attention of the significance of the number 8 this year. The Chinese place a lot of importance on the number 8 in their culture. For the 2008 Olympics, the Chinese picked the date and the starting time for the opening ceremony to be on 08/08/08 and beginning at 08:08 P. M. In Numerology, the number 8 represents either material success or failure depending on the path one is on. It is a strong number for Karma and the ego. It can be honorable or abusive and corruptive. So we have to ask ourselves, based on history of the Chinese government, what could be their significance here? Is China trying to change so the world will see them in a different light with a new commitment to human rights? Or is it the same old same old with their abusiveness on human rights violation? This Olympic might be worth watching more than any other Olympic event that we have seen in a long time.
So, now let's see how the astrology forecast might be looking for these 2008 Olympic Games.
On August 1 in the Moon South Node we have a solar eclipse and August 16th we have a lunar eclipse. Typically it is not wise to plan a big event an Olympic during this two week period between a solar or lunar eclipse. So, we already are not starting out on a good foot.
With Uranus in the first house, it can show that the Chinese are trying to show their inventiveness by adopting a more unconventional way of getting themselves across to others. The Chinese will show their independence and originality when it comes to their hosting the games.
With Uranus is in opposition of Mars, it can mean some unexpected behavior on the Chinese government's part, ignoring a group's feelings. It could mean this behavior can cause an emotional confrontation - perhaps the Tibetans?
