Verbal Threats Force Cash Handover

A bank teller complied with a robber's demands upon being verbally threatened to hand over cash, according to a news release from the Suffolk County Police Department.Police say on Wednesday, June 25, just after 2:30 p.m., a male entered a Roslyn Savings Bank branch in West Babylon, New York. Upon entering the bank, located at 531 Montauk Highway, the man allegedly approached a teller and made demands for cash. The robber is said to have threatened the use of a gun if the teller did not comply immediately. The teller quickly agreed and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the thief which then took off in an unknown direction.
The perpetrator is described as a white male, approximately fifty years of age, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighs around 180 pounds with dark colored hair. At the time of the robbery the individual was seen wearing dark sunglasses, a black T-shirt, blue jean shorts, and white sneakers.
