Characteristics of a Successful Entrepreneur

There are several things that set apart a true entrepreneur from any other standard businessman or employer. Entrepreneurs will always have a streak of Independence which stops them from just wanting to work for someone, and doing so will never satisfy them, no matter how near to the top
they get. This is why they are better suited to owning and running their own business than working for someone else. There are many examples of entrepreneurs in the media today that many people try to emulate. Figures such as Bill Gates or Richard Branson are typical examples of the entrepreneur. Them being the owners of Microsoft and the Virgin group respectively.

Entrepreneurs tend to be people who want to succeed at what they do, rather then just wanting to get to the top. For most of us getting to the upper echelons of a multi national company would be something we would be very happy with. For an entrepreneur however this would not be acceptable because they wouldn't be achieving everything that they wanted to and wouldn't be at the forefront of the business. Unlike many business owners they also have vision and tend to think ahead to where the business could be in the future, rather than settling for where the business is now. Which allows them good scope for expansion as to them the business can never get big or successful enough.

When starting out in business many people are concerned with other aspects of their lives. For example some people wouldn't like putting in lots of overtime to get a new business up and running. And a lot of people are worried about risking their investments should the business fail. Entrepreneurs don't have these concerns as often. They will happily work all the hours that they can, and often aren't worried about losing all the money that they have. If there is even a remote chance that they can make a success of the business and eventually make more money.
