When it comes to children who have special learning needs, many parents are now choosing to home school them instead of sending them to public school. This obviously has many advantages since schools are unable to give children with special needs the individual attention and care that they really need. Another problem is that children with ADD in public schools are often misdiagnosed with some type of social behavior problem instead of with what they actually have. The end result being that they are not learning at the same pace as the other children, and will usually end up falling behind.
There are many additional benefits to home schooling children with ADD. A parent can tailor assignments to the exact needs of the child, and give them the special one on one individual attention that they need. Home schools also enable children to learn at their own pace. In some cases children who have ADD will sometimes end up falling behind the rest of the class, because they are not getting the attention they need. As a parent you also know what your child’s special needs are, and can there fore tailor the lessons accordingly.
