1) Note Books and Pens – A writer always needs plenty of notebooks and pens to write in. Most writers long hand write everything or write down notes on paper before transferring to a computer, Notebooks and pens are a writers necessity.

2) A laptop – Even if the writer on your list has a desktop computer a laptop is still a gift all writers will love. Sitting at the computer desk all day, day after day can prove to be very hard on the back, legs and arms. A laptop gives them the ability to write where ever is comfortable for them. They can even take it outside and get some much need fresh air.

3) Printer Paper and Ink – Whether the writer on your list writes strictly online or not, they still use printer paper and Ink printing out research for topics they will be writing on. A writer can never have too much paper or ink.

4) Pay there Internet access for a couple months or longer – Writers usually just barely scrape buy on their writing earnings so paying their Internet bill for awhile is a a very thoughtful gift and gives them a little extra money since they have one less bill to worry about.

I am sending this to my Mom as she asked what I want for Christmas and I never say what I really want. I would also add a digital camera (I need a better one) as a picture is worth a thousand words -- so less typing. ;-)
