San Francisco is a great city and a wonderful tourist destination. There are countless things to do in San Francisco for entertainment. San Francisco is home to many great museums, historical sites, parks, beaches, restaurants, shops, and sporting events. If you are in the mood to see a movie in San Francisco, there are several great movie theaters to choose from. This is a guide to a few of San Francisco's largest movie theaters:

AMC Loews Metreon 15: This AMC theater, located at 101 Fourth Street, is my favorite place to see a movie in San Francisco. AMC Loews Metreon 15 is more of an entertainment complex than just a movie theater. In addition to being able to see a movie, you can also entertain yourself in their gigantic arcade, do some shopping, or have a meal in their upscale food court. If you want to have a fun night out, without going to a fancy restaurant or to a bar or nightclub, the AMC Loews Metreon 15 is a great option. You can eat dinner, play some arcade games, browse some shops, see a movie, and then grab some dessert on your way out. It is a great way to spend a night, especially if the fog is in and it's cold and windy in San Francisco. The theater is located south of Market Street, not far from Union Square and the Financial District in San Francisco. You can reach the AMC Loews Metreon by phone at 415-369-6201 or on the internet at www.amctheatres.com.

Century San Francisco Centre 9: This Century Theatres location, now owned by Cinemark, is located at 845 Market Street in downtown San Francisco. The location is within the brand new expansion of the San Francisco Centre shopping mall that just opened in the fall of 2006. This movie theater has a game room, a café, and offers stadium seating. You can contact this movie theater by phone at 415-538-3456 or get information online at www.cinemark.com.
