I stand alone
On this cold winter’s shore
Grey racing clouds
Paying me no mind
I drift along the rocks
With the crashing surf
Jeweled ice spray
Misting over me

For long I have seen

Waves dashing

Bitter grey sun
Over a monochrome beach
Thunderheads gathering

Footsteps on slate
