Angelina Jolie as Mariane Pearl in A Mighty Heart

Angelina Jolie once again succeeds to be a woman of great human values as she embarks on her new project ‘A Mighty Heart’, an emotional account of a wife’s distressed search for her missing journalist husband. Jolie is acclaimed for her social concerns as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR. Her humanitarian works for safeguarding the well-being of refugees are widely revered. 

The movie ‘A Mighty Heart’ is a film adaptation of Mariane Pearl’s memoir on her husband Daniel Pearl’s life and death. The project succeeded in making a buzz in the media world far before its production. The reason are two. The emotional side of the movie narrating the trauma of Mariane Pearl, wife of Wallstreet Journal reporter Daniel Pearl gave ‘A Mighty Heart’ a social as well as a personal appeal. 

The agitation, Daniel Pearl’s kidnap and brutal murder by Pakistani Militants, created in the minds of people and amongst the media was far deep. Secondly, ‘A Mighty Heart’ is produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B. Since the movie is a joint venture by media’s most celebrated couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie it evoked media world wide. 

‘A Mighty Heart’ is directed by Michael Winterbottom, who has a good amount of success stories in his portfolio, like ‘Welcome to Sarajevo’, ‘Twenty Four Hour Party People’ etc. The film which has been shot in Pune, the south-west city of  India, is slated to be released in 2007.
