Everyone is well aware of the meaning of a Sugar Daddy, but they might not of heard the term Urban Cougar used before. An Urban cougar is described as a woman over 40 who aggressively hunt the younger man for a relationship. This is becoming ever so popular in today’s society. Demi
 Moore and Ashton Kutcher, Courtney Cox and David Arquette, Madonna and Guy Ritchie are just a few of the female celebrities that have chosen to date younger men. If a 40 something guy dates an 18 year old girl there isn’t much said .In fact his buddies will all congratulate him on making such a score. If the tables were turned and the older person was a woman they are looked down upon and judged. Why is that? These so called Urban cougars are doing nothing any different then their male counterpart, but they are the ones to get all the whispers behind their backs about the relationship.

You shouldn't be so critical of a lifestyle you know little about, judging by your article. I married my first husband (who was several years older than I) when I was very young and I was already pregnant. He was the father of my 4 children, and I knew little of love. I thought that marraige was some sort of slavery, which with my first husband, it was. He was verbally, emotionally and occasionally physically abusive towards me, and when he began to turn his anger management on our children, I left. Walked out in 1999. Ever since I left my ex, I began dating younger men, who were more sensitive, and (jokingly) "trainable." I recently (12/31/08) married the love of my life, whom I have been dating for 5 years. He is a much better father figure to my kids than the sperm donor ever was. He is 14 years my junior, same age difference as Ashton and Demi. Yes, I make more money than he does, but he TOTALLY pays his fair share in the household, I am no sugar mamma. He is wonderfu

nice article Heather. It's a fascinating phenomenon on the dating scene. Isn't there a movie coming out about cougars? I read about that on a blog recently ( http://www.cougared.com ) I think it's got Carrie Fisher from Star Wars in there playing one of the cougars. But I'm in the UK so it may have already come out in the States.
