The newly revived Doctor Who television series has had a theme for each season. The first new season, with Christopher Eccleston as The Doctor and pop singer-turned-actress Billie Piper as his companion Rose Tyler, had "Bad Wolf" as its theme. The "Bad Wolf" references were all through each episode and the storyline culminated with Rose becoming the "Bad Wolf" after looking into the time vortex at the heart of the TARDIS (which stands for "Time And Relative Dimensions In Space", which is The Doctor's ship that travels in Time and Space). Season two, with David Tennant taking over as The Doctor and still traveling with Rose Tyler, had "Torchwood" as its theme and that storyline culminated in a battle between the Cybermen and Daleks at Torchwood's offices in Canary Warf.

Season three, with Tennant's Doctor traveling with Martha Jones (played by Freema Agyeman), had "Harold Saxon" as its theme. This series ended with Harold Saxon (played by John Simm, from "Life On Mars", a popular television program following the adventures of a modern police detective that is injured in an accident and wakes up in the 1970s) being elected Prime Minister of Great Britain. Harold Saxon turned out to be The Doctor's old nemesis and fellow Time Lord, The Master. Now, with season four, it seems missing planets has been the theme. All through this newest season references to missing planets have been dropped here and there. Now, with the release of the twelfth episode of this season, we find out where the planets have been taken and by whom.
