Last night's episode of The Bachelorette was heartbreaking. Down to three men, DeAnna headed to the Bahamas for three over night dates. The remaining men, Jeremy, Jesse, and Jason, all kicked their attentions into high gear to stay in the competition. Horseback riding, kayaking, picnics, and even strolls on the beach made for romantic dates and an exciting episode, but at the end I felt that DeAnna's decision was obvious if not easy.

Her three beaus, all tall, dark, and handsome, are cut from three different kinds of cloth and seemingly match three different aspects of her personality. While they are all great guys, I feel that she would be better off if paired up with someone that is able to mildly fill all three roles and not someone that is strongly one type or the other.

Jason is a single father who not only needs someone who can be a great wife; he needs someone who can be a parent to his precious son Ty. While I disagreed with Jason's irresponsible decision to bring his young son onto a reality show while in search of a wife, Ty really seems none the worse for it. DeAnna wants someone who she can have a family with, someone who will nurture and take care of her, and someone she can confide in. Jason is the best remaining candidate to give her that. While I'm not sure whether or not Jason was deliberately using his son to secure a place in the final two, I will say that it definitely worked.

Jesse speaks to DeAnna's fun-loving, adventurous side and in a big way. He's a professional snow boarder and amateur goof-ball. While they do have a lot of fun together, they never really get any deeper, and I'm worried that that could cause problems in the real world. Jesse, himself, even wondered how to handle her in the real world where normal dates consist of simple trips to the movies and where helicopter rides to private concerts are completely out of the equation.
