Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe in Libertyville, Illinois: Review

Eating Out in Chicagoland

Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe is a breakfast and lunch restaurant in Libertyville, Illinois. Libertyville is in Lake County, about 25 miles northwest of the City of Chicago. The restaurant occupies a busy corner location on the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue
(Route 21) and Buckley Road (Route 137). The building has a noticeable brick and stone exterior with a copper colored roof. The exterior immediately sets the tone for a restaurant that has a great ambiance.

We recently enjoyed a meal at Wildberry. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch. We arrived after the lunch rush, at about 1:30 pm. The restaurant was not busy during this visit. I have been deterred from visiting there at times because there was a line of people waiting outside. There may be a wait for service on Saturdays and Sundays.

On this weekday afternoon, there was no wait. We were immediately escorted to a wooden booth in the dining area. The interior of Wilberry was decorated in harvest colors of berry and pumpkin. The harvest colors were set off by the wooden booths and trim. The interior was warm and welcoming. Classical guitar and piano music played in the background.

Wildberry Menu

We were handed large menus with more choices then we knew what to do with. There was also a specials menu on a separate card.

The server asked for our beverage order and we each ordered a cup of coffee. She brought the coffee in steaming mugs. Wildberry serves Seattle's Best coffee. We ordered regular coffee, but Wildberry also serves a menu of Espresso and flavored Latte and Mocha beverages. The coffee was served along with a small pitcher of real cream.
