Ever dreamed of owning someone else? With MySpace, you can make it a virtual reality.
One of the hottest new applications available on MySpace is an option to buy, sell and give your friends away. The new application which can be downloaded for free, sets the initial price of anybody at $500. Then, the more a person gets bought, the more they are worth.
Participants can earn $1,000 every eight hours by logging into the application. There are also bonus cash amounts for downloading other applications to your MySpace page.
One nice thing about the "Own Your Friends" MySpace application is that they do not have to download the program to allow you to buy them. Anyone with a MySpace page can be bought, if the price is right.
After buying a friend, the application is designed to immediately send that friend a message that you have purchased them and to advertise the application. You can also personalize the message that is sent.
Once you own your friends, you have the option to change their status message which other people who have the application can see. The net "pet" can also rate their happiness with their current owner as happy, content or gloomy.
Creating a bidding war over a particularly popular pet, as the newly bought friend is called, can cause dramatic price increases. Each time a pet is purchased, the price goes up and the former owner is reimbursed for their former investment and given a small profit. The pet also receives a small profit from the sale.
When an owner believes his MySpace pet is getting too big for his britches, the pet can be sold via a bulletin auction. The owner places an announcement that the pet is for sale and the price of the pet drops.
Pet owners can also give their friends away to another MySpace pet owner. Giving away a human gift earns the giver a cool $1,250 in fake MySpace money to spend to own another friend.
