The Fishy Side of Neopets!

You can spend hours going through the database at Neopets and exploring all the items that can be bought, traded or received as Random Events. Spend enough time poking around and you'll come across some very strange things. "Fish Neggs", "Iced Fish Cake" and even "Fish Flavored Ice Cream" can be found in shops or at the trading post. Some people start fish galleries or try to collects as many of the Fishing Hole's special fish as possible. No matter how you look at it, something fishy is going on at Neopets.

Some of the retired items you might want to keep your eyes peeled for include "Stuffed Fish Head", "Frozen Fish Gel" and "Fish Eggs". These will show up on the Shop Wizard but they won't show up if you use the search engine. I bought a ton of the "Stuffed Fish Head" when they were selling for about 3,000 NP; now the average price on the Shop Wizard is about 50,000 NP so I am seeing a nice profit from them when I sell them. While not a true 'fish' item, "Minty Shrimp" does warrant a mention.

The Fish Pops are always a great thing to stock up on as they are often requested items from the faeries at the Employment Agency. They include "Lemon & Lime Fish Pop", "Chocolate Coated Fish Pop", basic "Fish Pop", "Blueberry Fish Pop" and the "Strawberry & Cream Fish Pop". Most of these sell for 40-50 NP so if you come across them for less it's never a bad idea to stock up on them. Have 20 or so in your inventory and when you get an Employment Agency job you can pull them from there and get a higher pay out.

If you are into fighting then you can arm yourself with the "Fish Bone Bruce Sword", "Mystical Fish Lobber", "Bruce Fish Slingshot" or the rather menacing "Island Attack Fish". I don't battle often enough to warrant investing in them but a few of them are pretty rare and have some good powers inside the Battledome.

Some of the most interesting fish are the ones that you can get from events at the site. A number of them can be fed to your pets and some are toys. Edible ones include "Chaosfish", "Radarfish", "Butterfish", "Breadfish" and "Waterfish". The toys you can get range from the shimmery "Golden Mechafish" to the dark "Spooky Mechafish".
