Monkey Bizness in Olathe, Kansas: Where to Let Kids Monkey Around

Like most moms, I am always looking for new and fun things for my kids to do, especially during those long, hot summer months. We've tried new museums, libraries and even pools. I never thought I would find the perfect place to take my kids at the local mall.

Monkey Bizness is a play place located in the Great Mall of the Great Plains in Olathe, KS. We discovered it one day while doing some shopping and I was amazed that I had never heard of it before.

They have an open play area that is open from 10am to 8pm Monday through Saturday and they are open 10am to 6pm on Sundays. All you need are socks to play and if you happen to forget them, you can buy them for just a few dollars. Children of all ages are allowed to play and price varies depending on their age. Children under 2 are $4, children over 2 are $7.50 and adults are free. There is also a place to park your stroller and benches to sit on while you watch your kids.

One of the first things I noticed about the place was how clean it was. When you have kids, you are always aware how clean or dirty places are. It's one of the first things I consider before taking my kids anywhere. It was very clean and they had hand sanitizer available as well.

In the open play area they have three different items for kids to play on, two large inflatables and a huge jungle gym that has a swing and a slide in it. The first inflatable is an obstacle course with a huge slide at the end and then the other inflatable is a bouncing one with another slide. There is also an inflatable basketball net to play with.

Probably one of the best features they have is a toddler area for kids who are 3 and under. My 17 month old loves this area. There are several little slides, foam shapes for them to climb on and a tunnel they can crawl in. And you can be in the toddler area and still keep an eye on your older children.

Another great feature of this place is all the equipment is strong enough for parents to go on as well. So not only does your child get to have fun, you get to have a little fun too. I personally liked the slide inside the jungle gym the best. It was high and fast!
