Alex and Cynthia Rodriguez Split Amid Rumors About Madonna, Lenny Kravitz

Alex Rodriguez has made many headlines on the baseball field. But now, both Alex Rodriguez and his wife, Cynthia Rodriguez, are making headlines more suited for the gossip magazines. Alex Rodriguez got the ball rolling earlier in the week with the rumors that he had been spending too much time with Madonna. But Cynthia Rodriguez managed to top all that with two big stories of her own in the past 24 hours. The first is that Cynthia Rodriguez has apparently decided to divorce Alex Rodriguez. The second is that Cynthia Rodriguez might have been having her own affair with high-profile music star Lenny Kravitz.

The troubles seemed to begin less than three months ago, when the Rodriguez's had their second daughter born in April. Alex was only able to arrive at Cynthia's side 10 minutes after birth, then had to rejoin the Yankees the next day. A source told the New York Daily News that the Rodriguez family had been having problems ever since.

None of Alex and Cynthia's problems became the source of public gossip until this week, when the rumors broke of Alex's possible affair with Madonna. Alex gave no comment to reports that he had been visiting Madonna in her Central Park apartment for the last several weeks. There was also no comment on the report that Alex visited Madonna the night after Cynthia gave birth.

As these rumors took off, more rumors broke out yesterday regarding Cynthia Rodriguez's own late night activities. The New York Post claims that Cynthia had gone to Paris with rock star Lenny Kravitz, although Cynthia's mother immediately denied that report could be true.

The "six degrees of separation" links go even further, as Madonna and Kravitz were rumored to have their own affair in the early 90's. Madonna and Kravitz also share the same agent, Guy Oseary, who became Alex Rodriguez's agent as well a year ago. Like Alex Rodriguez, Madonna is also facing the possible end of her marriage to director Guy Ritchie, although that was making the news well before these series of events started.
