Lee Grivas, Boyfriend of Christina Applegate, Found Dead

For many years I was a fan of "Married with Children." Although the ensemble cast brought distinct humor to the show, there was no doubt that Ed O'Neil as Al Bundy as the consistently frustrated father and husband was the core character. Another character was Kelly, his trampy, dense daughter played by Christina Applegate, who brought a lot of humor to her part.

As is often the case with precocious actors, Applegate has had little success off-camera. She had numerous romances and ultimately was married to Jonathon Schaech in 2001 in a mixed-religion ceremony. The stormy off-and-on relationship opened the door for a relationship with pro photographer Lee Grivas.

Shockingly, Lee Grivas was found dead in his Hollywood residence yesterday.

Grivas was 10 years younger than the 37-year-old Applegate and it turned out that the romance of the two would have the same stormy off and on pattern of Applegate's marriage.

Grivas and Applegate had just decided to "try again" after their two year relationship had failed when Applegate's ex-husband Schaech filed final divorce papers when the tragedy occurred.

As is often the sad case, investigators of the death have indicated that Grivas had a significant history of drug usage; implying that drugs may have played a role.

Applegate has issued a statement saying she is "profoundly saddened" by the death of Lee Grivas and she has extended her feelings to his family. Further, she has expressed what an integral part of her life Grivas was.

Applegate has been a follower of spirituality for quite a while.

Again, as a fan of her trademark show, I am saddened for her; that she has not found personal contentment. People don't understand the skill and timing it takes to reflect a response humorously.

Applegate is an accomplished dancer; she has been is show business literally since was three months old; she has won about every major award with respect to television there is to win, but she has yet to find happiness in her personal life. One can only hope that at some point she will.

Lee Grivas has died at a very young age; it is truly shocking and sad.
