Park Improvements New York State: We can create a supply of funds while increasing the demand for use of our State Parks.

New York State Parks are places of beauty that could readily be tourist attractions for local or regional tourism. Most people in the Northeast live within a few hours of travel from attractions such as The Erie Canal Trail or Liberty Island and the Statue of Liberty,

Just look at Niagara Falls, formerly billed as one of the seven wonders of the world, still one of the world's most popular tourist attractions - people are once again spending time and money visiting the American side of Niagara Falls. We have Goat Island and Robert Moses Park, which provide beautiful views of Niagara Falls. We did an excellent job of cleaning up the park, doing a few minor upgrades, and promoting tourism to this location, we need to continue to promote Niagara Falls as a tourist destination for the next decade.

There are many other state parks that also would benefit the state treasury and the local economy from having an increase in visitors on a daily basis. The NYS Department of Parks needs your support in order to develop more pleasant amenities and accommodations within the park system throughout the state. These include parks from the Erie Canal Trail, which extends from Lockport to Albany, NY; to Caumsett State Park in the Town of Huntington, NY and the Connetquot River State Park in the Town of Islip, NY.

What a great idea! NY state generates millions of dollars from Niagara Falls State Park and yet the city is the most deplorable in the North Eastern United States. So lets send more of our money to Albany woo hoo!!!

If they are such a benefit to the budget why does the article keep asking for more money for them? The best way to help the budget is to sell off the parks to developers who will put up revenue-generating housing and businesses.
