Organic Cereal Review: Cascadian Farm Organic Honey Nut O's

The more I think about it the more I enjoy making my own granola, I have always been partial to granola cereals and my son enjoys them as well except that they are harder for him to eat and he really does not need the fiber content that comes with them. For this reason from time to time I will get him and some organic cereal for his breakfast. Recently I got him two Cheerios-like cereals and one of them was Cascadian Farm Organic Honey Nut O's Cereal. Here is what both me and my son thought about the cereal.

Normally I don't care for honey flavored cereals but my son enjoys them very much. He instantly liked the cereal when I gave him a bowl and so I assumed that the honey taste was going to be pretty overwhelming, thankfully though I was wrong. The honey taste in Cascadian Farm Organic Honey Nut O's Cereal was a great amount, it made the cereal taste really good but it didn't make too sweet. I thought that I would like the non-honey version of this cereal better but it was actually the other way around. In addition to tasting good I found that the cereal was also very healthy to eat. I was eager to check out the ingredients that made up this cereal as well as the nutrition facts that it had to offer.

The ingredients of Cascadian Farm Organic Honey Nut O's Cereal are organic whole grain oats, naturally milled organic sugar, organic whole grain barley, organic wheat starch, organic honey, sea salt, calcium carbonate, organic molasses and organic natural almond flavor. It is nice when you don't see a too long of list of ingredients and when you know what the ingredients are in a cereal that you are giving your child. In addition the cereal also listed that it included the mineral nutrients iron and zinc and contained the vitamins C, as sodium ascorbate, the b vitamins niacinamide, calcium pantothenate, thiamin monoitrate, folic acid and pyridoxine hydrocholoride as B6, vitamin A as acetate, vitamin D as cholecalciferol and vitamin E as tocopherols. This all looked wonderful and I hoped that the nutrition facts would look equally wonderful.
