Holiday Light Shows in the Chicago Area

Dazzling Christmas Holiday Light Displays will decorate the Chicago Land Area during the holiday season. These spectacular holiday light displays can be viewed by driving through the grounds in your vehicle.  Take a drive with you family and friendly and enjoy the show, or shows.  Driving through the light displays can be a romantic interlude, or an event for the entire famity.

On eleven days during the holidays, Brookfield Zoo will be transformed into a winter wonderland illuminated with more than three quarters of a million twinkling lights. Over 400 trees will be illuminated to create magical evenings at the zoo. Ice carvers will create magical works of art and magicians will entertain. Hamill Family Play Zoo admission is free thanks to a generous gift from La Salle Bank. Dates of the Winter Wonderland festival are during Saturdays and Sundays: December 2-3, 9-10, 16-17, 23, and all week December 26-31.

Take a magical trip to a winter wonderland of twinkling lights and holiday beauty at the Chicago Botanic Garden as  the holiday season kicks off. Wonderland Express pulls into the Chicago Botanic Garden, on Saturday, December 2, bringing holiday magic to all. Outside, 750,000 white lights sparkle and welcome you and your family to the Garden's wonderland. Inside the new Regenstein Center, a 10,000-square-foot exhibit of miniature trains winds over bridges, under trestles, past waterfalls and through dozens of Chicago's favorite landmarks. Designer of the Model Railroad Garden, Paul Busse created this amazing exhibit exclusively for the Garden's holiday celebration. Admission: Adults $10.00 Children 2-12 $8.00.
