Rick Moranis - Yes to Bob & Doug, No to Ghostbusters Game

Moranis Tells Ghostbusters to "Take Off"

Rick Moranis is making more headlines by declining the opportunity to work on the Ghostbusters game than he is with his own project. Rick Moranis, one of the most entertaining characters from the original Ghostbusters movie, will not be joining Bill Murray and in voicing a character for

the Ghosterbusters game. Instead, Rick Moranis will be doing voice work, and producing another one of his infamous characters, Bob Mckenzie.

Rick Moranis: No Ghostbusters Game

Rick Moranis is disappointing fans by not joining the rest of the original Ghostbusters cast in providing voice work for the Ghostbusters game. Already on board with the Ghostbusters game are fellow stars Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Harold Ramis.

Rick Moranis played a geek turned keymaster, Louis Tully, in the comedic Ghostbusters (1989). He was charming and believably confused in the role.

When Original Cast Members Disappoint

Rick Moranis not appearing in the Ghostbusters game is a slight disappointment to fans, but not as disappointing as Ann B. Davis' refusal to appear in The Brady Bunch TV specials. Ann B. Davis, as well as the older Brady girls each refused to return for TV specials and variety shows. When original cast members do not return to original roles in shows, the fans lose out.

Ann B. Davis later succumbed to the fact that she will forever be Alice, and she appeared in The Brady Bunch Movie.

For Rick Moranis, he was quoted as saying that he was retired and did not want to work, according to Wired.com. Yet, he will be working on his own project now,
The Animated Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Animated Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie

Rick Moranis will be working on an animated show, picked up by Fox, "The Animated Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie." The show will air in Canada, during prime time hours. Rick Moranis will be reuniting with Dave Thomas to resurrect the goofy beer-guzzling brothers, Bob & Doug McKenzie.

I think he made a big mistake on that decision.

I loved the Bob and Doug album! Too bad I don't get Canadian TV... maybe it'll come to the US.

Super interesting, Pam. I remember this actor so well from not only Ghosbusters but Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and Little Shop of Horrors. He wasn't the worst singer in the world, either, Nice reporting :)
