How to Improve Gas Mileage with Improved Fuel Efficiency
Three Simple Things Anyone Can Do to Get More Bang for Their Buck!
In case you haven't noticed, gas prices are shooting up and out 'through the roof.' Government's not able to solve everyone's problems with it either. It comes down, as always, to us to improve our gas mileage with simple and affordableSo, before you go joining yet another, internet-based, MLM unit, selling yet another, miracle additive for your vehicle, to increase mileage, try these steps to save money:
1) Make sure to keep your tires at the proper pressure. That level, measured in p(pounds per). s(square). i(inch)., on the side of your tire. If you've difficulty seeing that small of print, any tire professional, would gladly help you...or family member...or friend...or stranger that you ask for that matter. Keeping your tires at the proper pressure not only means less stress against the engine's drive, it also means a longer life for your tires and vehicle, thereby saving you even more money, in the long run.
2) On the highway use the a/c system of your vehicle. In town, and on domestic streets, roll down your window and turn the a/c off.
3) Get a tune-up...and make sure they get your air filter(s) and fuel filter(s) too! New plugs, wires, and filters means more of your fuel is being used, more efficiently, for the velocity you make the vehicle maintain. Makes sense. Right? If you're supposed to be using six cylinders, yet only 5 are contributing, then not only is 1/6th of your fuel wasting, the other five work that much more to keep you moving. You can usually find a mechanic anywhere that'll do a reasonably priced job, if you buy the parts, and the beer. The last tune-up I bought the stuff for was just under $35, with the ratchet needed, and a friend helped me for $20. Some establishments will try to charge nearly $200. So be careful! But even $200 might be a good deal at todays gas prices because sometimes it's like getting a new car!
