Restaurant dining in Milwaukee offers travelers many options for internationally-themed cuisine. One can get such cultural dishes ranging from Serbian to Nigerian food by restaurant dining in Milwaukee. Here’s five of my choice Milwaukee restaurant dining picks that will inspire you to visit this city just for the food alone.

African Hut Restaurant: Many Flavors of the Continent

Yinka and Maji Adedokun are a very friendly couple and have created a wonderful dining place for those who are in Milwaukee. They offer up some great recipes from Western and sub-Saharan Africa. The Adedokuns really take pride in making sure their dishes have the right amount and best variety of spices.

You’ll listen to some lively African-themed music in a laid-back Milwaukee restaurant dining atmosphere which emanates that mom and pop feel. Enjoy such appetizers as the Akara, which is a fried vegetable treat that includes hand-shelled black-eyed peas. It tastes mild, but eventually left a spicy aftertaste. You cannot go wrong either with the Ugandan Samosa. This is a meat dumpling with vegetables and spices, that’s got a fried triangular shell: Oh, so tasty and smooth!

As for the main restaurant dining courses, African Hut Restaurant of Milwaukee offers a wide variety of dining entrees that are loaded with meat. Vegetarian choices also abound here, too. The Jollof Rice with chicken couldn’t be beat. It’s really spicy and kind of hot, but I came back for seconds, thirds, and fourths!

For dessert, you haven’t lived unless you try the house special of this Milwaukee restaurant: The Mindinmindin (pronounced Mindy-Mindy). It’s loaded with banana slices, French Vanilla ice cream, apple chunks that were baked in molasses, and succulent cream. This is one of the best desserts I’ve ever tasted.

To quench my thirst, I tried their imported Ginger Beer. Think of a quality root beer, except that ginger is the driving force. I could definitely taste the sharp carbonated ginger in it, with the sharpness making it all the better.

The African Hut sounds like a winner, and that Mindinmindin looks heavenly. Thanks for the reviews.
