Babor was founded by Dr. Michael Babor in 1956 Germany. Dr. Babor, a biochemist, is credited with developing a revolutionary concept in skin care, hydrophilic (water-soluble) oils. By researching and analyzing formulas, Dr. Babor was one of the first biochemists to enrich skin care products with natural plant extracts and vitamins.
In 1961, Babor Cosmetics was purchased by Dr. Leo Vossen, whose daughter, Jutta Kleine-Tebbe, herself an esthetician who has trained throughout Europe, is the current principle owner of the company. Under their leadership, Babor has become one of the most successful skin and body care companies in Europe.
Research for Babor is conducted through Babor’s laboratories, universities in Europe, and by an international team of dermatologists. All products are produced under pharmaceutical guidelines and are dermatologist and allergy-tested. Babor does no animal testing.
Babor prides itself on being on the cutting edge of the skin care industry, providing skin care professionals with innovative treatments and home care products for their clients. Babor offers a full range of professional skin and body care treatments and retail products for every skin type and condition.
