This tomb was built by Hajji Begum, the elder queen of king Humayun in the middle of the sixteenth century. The architecture of this tomb is based on the early mogul style. The low height design of the building, the four gates in all the four directions of the tomb, the shining artistic top ghumats, and the most beautiful gardens all around are the most common features of this tomb. It is made of red and white stones, which were brought from the quarries of Rajasthan. When you see this tomb, you will be pleasantly surprised to find the striking similarities of this tomb with the great Taj Mahal of Agra. Though the famous Taj was built around 100 years after this tomb, the similar features of these two monuments are really very interesting for the historians.
