I can't tell you how much it meant to have everything at our fingertips, as though we were at home, yet pampered, as though we were royal guests. The Hilton Garden Inn has the best of both worlds! We arrived in Lakeland after a full seven and one half hours on the road. I was exhausted and my bones ached after being in the back seat of my friend's small car. However, the Garden Hilton Inn offered a pleasant respite from all my aches and pains.
Upon entering the doors of the hotel, I felt myself relax and begin to enjoy the sites and sounds of our home-away-from-home for the next two days. The reception area was clean, well decorated and a cool, refreshing welcome from the Florida heat. I had never seen such fashion-savvy appointments in a small hotel. The glorious arrangement of white lilies adorning the table of the registration area perfectly complemented the lovely chandelier that gracefully lighted the entryway and welcoming atrium. To the left was a spacious but divided dining area that was impeccably clean. The registrar was pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful.
We decided on lunch at the dining room in the hotel and found that we had made an excellent choice! The salads were huge and tasty and the iced tea satisfied a real thirst for something wet and cold. A great selection of other lunch entrees was also on the menu. All of the prices were very reasonable.
Our hotel room was lovely! The full beds were covered with luxurious white down comforters, on which I stretched out immediately, letting out a huge sigh of relief. There were plenty of big fluffy pillows of different shapes and sizes and wonderful pillow-toped mattresses. The room offered Internet, TV, coffeepot and refreshment area with a fridge and spacious cabinet and large desk. The bathroom was also spacious with a full tub and shower, a hair dryer and plenty of counter space for cosmetics. Of course there was a closet that included an iron and ironing board.
