Simple Man

He walks into the room by himself
With no entourage or crowd of fans
He utters no words but she is still intrigued
His relaxed demeanor makes her wonder what he is thinking
She struggles to assert her desire to get to know him

Is this situation real or is she daydreaming?
She feels as if this time she has to get past her fear
She has nothing to lose but her pride
Her feet struggle to make a sudden move
But she knows this is an opportunity she doesn't want to lose
She musters enough courage to take the first step
But the butterflies in her stomach refuse to be removed
She presses forward and walks towards his direction
She reaches her destination and opens with a simple "hello."
To which he immediately responds, "I've been waiting for you to say that all day
but I hesitated to approach you because of the frown on your face."
She immediately places a bright smile on her face and he does the same.
It's too soon to say where this interaction will lead
Can a simple man bring out a softer side of her?
She doesn't have all of the answers
But for a favorable outcome she will continue to believe
Because she no longer wants to be her own worst enemy

Powerful! It's amazing what a smile can do, we all should keep one on our face, no matter how we feel inside. When you actually step out on your fears, you'll be surprised what happens. Beautiful poem.

Nicely done! It's easy to become your own worst enemy. Great message here.
