The hypnosis method has been proven to work twice as well as the patch and gum method to quit smoking. By combining hypnosis and another method to quit smoking can give the individual better results.
Hypnosis to quit smoking studies has proven that 66% of cases where people have tried to quit smoking with this method have worked. However, this method may not be right for all of those who wish to quit smoking.
Hypnosis Options
There are two main types of hypnosis for quitting smoking. Self-hypnosis and hypnotherapy. The hypnotherapy has to be administered by a certified hypnotherapist.
The first is self-hypnosis is a method in which you the individual trying to quit smoking use relaxation techniques on their own. The hypnosis requires the individual to use specific images to acquire the right level of relaxation. This method of hypnosis takes longer than hypnosis by a certified hypnotherapist.
The second main type of hypnosis is administered by a hypnotherapist. Words and images are used to get the individual relaxed which will help him or her quit smoking. Most hypnotherapists programs for quitting smoking are a onetime thing; however some will recommend more sessions to help with breaking the smoking habit for good.
Often there is a third hypnosis option. This type of hypnosis combines the two main types of hypnosis. An individual wanting to quit smoking can buy a CD program developed by a hypnotherapist professional to listen to in the privacy of their own home. The cost of this hypnosis is less expensive than going to a hypnotherapist's office, but gives the soon to be non-smoker flexibility of when and how often they listen to this type of hypnosis to quit smoking.
