Summer Movies 2008: Peeking into the Summer Movie Releases

What is Going to Be Hot in the Theater This Year

Summer is in full swing and with the temperatures rising, a lot of people are heading to the air conditioned comfort of a movie theater to escape the sun. There are some hot movies heating up the screen already, so what else is coming that will heat up the screen for you?

WALL-E (http://www.wall-e.com/) is out as of June 27th and is screaming up the box office charts. This Pixar film has Robots, technology, love, romance and is great for children of all ages. This is definitely a
film the entire family can enjoy.

Hancock (http://www.hancock-movie.com/) released on July 1st and has caused a lot of buzz. Some good, some bad, but this film stars Will Smith as the well-intentioned hero who leaves damage in his wake. This is a film that you need to judge for yourself. You may love it or you may hate it, everyone's opinions on this one differ.

The Dark Knight (http://www.thedarkknight.com/) releases July 18th. This is the last time we'll be able to see Heath Ledger in a newly released movie. That fact alone is going to make it one of the most popular movies of the summer. But beyond that, this film is another installment of Batman and that's never a bad thing for the fans of Batman.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (http://www.themummy.com/) releases on August 1st. This is the next installment of the Mummy franchise and stars Jet Li and Brendan Fraser in another great adventure for explorer Rick O'Connell. I can't say much about this movie having never seen any of the previous movies, so if you enjoyed the Mummy, then you'll want to check this new one out too.

And last but not least, my final hot pick for the summer we have Star Wars: The Clone Wars (http://starwars.com/) releases on August 15th. That's right, this summer holds another Star Wars release, but this one is different. This film is from LucasFilms Animation studio and is only the beginning since the adventures will continue with a new television series in the fall on the Cartoon Network and TNT Network.
