Many moons ago, wreaths were mostly seen on doors at Christmas, but nowadays wreaths can be made for any season or occasion. It's not necessary to start with a wreath form or to make your own from tree branches. If you're creative enough wreaths can be made out of all sorts of things. If it's round you've got the beginnings of a fabulous wreath.

One unusual form for a wreath, that's cheap and easy to find, is a burner ring. Made for electric stoves the rings replace old ones in seconds. You'll find the metal replacement rings at most stores which sell household products. The rings are small, which create a small wreath, but there are embellishments you can add to make the wreath much larger.

The theme you have for your wreath is completely up to you. If it's a wreath representing a new baby, glue small rattles, pacifiers, booties, hair bows and other baby items all over the burner ring. Bows, ribbons, strands of beads, baby doll items and even candies are other options for creating the baby wreath. To make the wreath look larger glue ruffled tulle or lace around the outer edge of the ring. Add a beautiful bow and you've created a very unique and inexpensive wreath.

The rings aren't completely flat; they have some depth to them, making them perfect for wreath projects. Create something very different by first choosing a picture to go with your wreath. Glue the picture to the center of the ring then add your embellishments. Wreaths with a picture in the center are highly unusual so you'll have the only one like it!

The wreath can be as simplistic or as detailed as you wish. Make a really cheap wreath by using things you already have around the house, like tiny toys from your kids' toy box, beads, old pieces of jewelry, plastic fruits, silk flowers and vines, or even paper flowers you fold yourself.

Takeaways
  • Burner rings can be made into fabulous wreaths.
  • To give the wreath even more depth stack two of them together.
  • Glue on miniatures, silk flowers, faux jewels and other craft items to create the wreath.
Did You Know?
Make the wreath look extra full by wrapping imitation vines around the burner ring before gluing on the embellishments.
