Harpo Appoints Eric Logan Executive Vice President

Eric Logan is the new Executive Vice President at Harpo Productions. The role is a newly created one for Logan, who will report directly to Tim Bennett, the company President who created Logan's new job especially for him.

The Executive Vice President job puts Logan in charge of Harpo Radio, Harpo Print and Harpo Retail. He also will take the helm of Harpo's expansion into digital and mobile initiatives. He's also expected to help manage talent at the company.

In addition, he will help accelerate the company's expansion into digital and mobile initiatives, including partnering with Harpo Development on new media offerings for the upcoming series "Dr. Oz" (working title).

Logan will start work in August. He comes to Harpo from XM Satellite Radio, where he was the Executive Vice President for programming and broadcast operations. He worked for XM since August 2004.
Harpo is the Oprah Winfrey entertainment conglomerate that has been growing rapidly in recent years.

Harpo Productions produces The Oprah Winfrey Show and operates oprah.com. In addition they develop and create original television programming for primetime, syndication, and cable TV. Harpo Print publishes the monthly O, The Oprah Magazine and the quarterly O at Home. Harpo Films Inc. produces feature films and TV movies under the "Oprah Winfrey Presents" tagline. Harpo Radio produces Oprah and Friends on XM Satellite Radion channel 156. Harpo Retail is composed of The Oprah Store and its companion website. Recently, Harpo partnered with Discovery Communications to launch a new cable network, The Oprah Winfrey Network, which is set to launch in 2009.
