There is just something starkly beautiful about the colors of the Fall season. Bright golds, deep russets and varying hues of brown make any landscape seem even more breathtaking. This is the case with the National Mall in Washington, DC. The National Mall is a stretch of artfully created land in between the White House and the Washington Monument. Along the way you will find a variety of Museums to wet your pallet in and a vast collection of people from all over the world.

In the Summer, all of the tourists come to town but in the Fall, it’s only small crowds that venture to the North. The weather is that perfect temperature that incites people to huddle together just to be a little warmer. The snow is not falling but the air has a crispiness that only happens in the colder months. The birds are making there way south and the Fall trees have slowly begun to turn colors and are preparing to blanket the ground in a sea of leaves.

At the National Mall you can take your friends or family and stroll along the walkways surrounded by an endless sea of color as you go from Museum to Museum. When you’re tired, there’s always a handy hot-dog stand nearby where you can get a cool drink and a bite to eat. There are endless places to lay a blanket down and watch the autumn sun makes its way across the sky or to roll out a soccer ball and play a short game. If you’re tired of Museums, you can walk to the White House and take pictures of the most important place in the United States. Maybe if you’re lucky, you could even catch President Bush or Vice-President Cheney, after all, even the most powerful people in the world like to go for walks. In the Fall, the jewel of DC is undoubtedly the scenic trek around the National Mall.
