Blog Carnival is a site, or a compilation of sites in which on a regular basis, bloggers take turns promoting each other’s work. If you, as a content writer write about a specific subject, or have a blog or blogs promoting your content, then you should participate in Blog Carnivals.

I regularly participate in Carnival of Homeschooling. Though I have yet to write my own Homeschool Carnival, I try to send a submission and to get my blog promoted several times a month. I have found participating in the Carnival of Homeschooling to be a great way to drive more traffic to my homeschool blog, and I believe that activity helped my to get my Google ranking, which in turn, helped to get me a paid homeschool blogger deal. I recently realized that this is also a great way to get my other content, like that of Associated Content more traffic as well.

How to submit a Blog Carnival:

To promote an article through a blog carnival all you need to do is find a carnival at blogcarnival.com that covers the same subject matter as your articles. If is preferable that you send a blog submission, so you need to write a few (clever and relevant) things about your article in your blog, and then submit that blog entry through blog carnivals. None of my blog entries has ever been turned down. A clever carnival writer will be able to use most of the entries submitted to him or her and still keep the carnival blog within topic.

How to write a Blog Carnival:

A blog carnival is a blog entry that links to numerous other blogs and tells a story. As an example, I will give an example of a blog carnival. Let us call this sample carnival Carnival of Associated Content. My subject matter will be Friday after Thanksgiving Shopping Guide:
