Top Ten Gift Ideas for Pre-Teens

It's hard to buy for pre-teens sometimes. This year, there are a lot of hot items out there that they are asking for. Here are some of those gift ideas:

(1) Firefly Phone
Firefly phones are mobile phones for kids. They are small, brightly colored, and best of all, parents have control over all calls. The Firefly phones has just 5 keys - on, off, mom, dad, and a phonebook button that parents put up to 20 important numbers into. When a call comes in from any other number, it will be rejected.

These phones are great for children and preteens who think they need a cell phone to fit in. Parents certainly don’t have to worry about unsafe calls and high phone bills with a Firefly.

Plans available for the $80 Firefly phones range from $10 a month to $25 starting price for by the minute options.

(2) PSP
Use it as a babysitter if you want! Buy your preteen a PSP so he/she can play games when bored or after doing homework.

The portable Playstation is small, lightweight, and easy to carry with you. The screen shows 16 million colors, so images are amazing and clear. There’s also wireless internet so your children can play against other gamers. The PSP also plays UMD new release movies and MP3s.

(3) Nintendo DS Lite
Another option to the PSP is a Nintendo DS Lite. The DS Lite weighs a lot less and is smaller than the original DS system. They come in stylish colors - pink, white, and black - and allow you to play Game Boy and Game Cube games.

The DS Lite has 2 screens to choose from - both showing different views of the action. To top it off, the DS Lite features voice recognition where your child can tell the game what to do and a wireless connection.

(4) Robosapien
Scientists are getting closer to making human-like robots, and that is just what Robosapien is! The robot has 67 pre-programmed actions like throw, kick, burp, etc. It also has 84 more that you can program into it with a remote.

The Robosapien walks in 2 speeds and has fully-functional arms. It is a foot or so tall and has one muscular, tough robot look.

(5) iDog
Add some entertainment to your MP3 player! A palm-sized interactive dog would love to dance with you as you listen to your tunes!
