Will Smith looks so different being "clean shaved with his baby face" as the sometime lovable and hated super-hero of this film called "Hancock". Where he portrays the NEW and what I would call "Black Superman without a cape?" because nothing can stop this hero, such as speeding bullets, trains, or bombs. He can also fly anywhere in the world "faster than any plane" on earth the same as Superman.

Ironically, (dramatically portrayed by Will Smith) the only thing that seems to slow him down is drinking about 2 fifths of liquor everyday, because apparently he seems to suffer from extreme "loneliness" and amnesia from a previous accident and woke up in a hospital with no recollection of what happened to him in his previous life.

The reason why I say sometimes lovable, is because "Hancock" gets drunk and tears up almost everything within sight while trying to rescue someone in distress like "Superman's" magical powers. Although, the city does appreciate his efforts, he's just tearing up too much property while trying to save these people because he's "drunk and destructive" (as filmmakers and writers have copied from Superman III because of this bad "Krytonite" formula developed by Richard Pryor to hurt Superman). The entire city eventually turns against this guy, that dresses like a homeless person.

One day he saves Ray Embrey a public-relations expert (Jason Bateman) from a fatal train wreck and Ray, a family man convinces "Hancock" that he needs to do something about his public image, and politely tells him to his face that he's "lonely" but at the same time "Hancock" DOES seem to care about people? Which seemed to make this film so realistic.

For some strange reason "Hancock" listens to Ray and decides to go to jail because of his over 600 warrants for arrest of destructive property and public drunk behavior! Hancock also develops a caring friendship with their son, which Hancock scratches out on the walls in jail with his unique powers, showing a father and son image, wall after wall and picture after picture as slowly and carefully shown by the film director.
