I personally enjoy the aquariums at Cold Spring Harbor. They have a variety of interesting species to view. And they support fish conservation. You can't get much better than that!

If you prefer the city life and modern entertainment, Long Island has countless movie theaters scattered throughout it. They have all of the latest movies at reasonable prices.

Long Island is perhaps known best for the story of The Amityville Horror. Believe it or not, many say that it actually happened! Although the house itself has been changed, you can still go and visit the foundations. Even without all of that publicity, Amityville is a nice little place with friendly people.
