A Spa experience can be so relaxing and so awesome but you need to ask some questions before getting a massage. For example, if there is a medical condition and you are pregnant you need to inform the massage therapist and make sure she/he has special training. There are some spots in people's bodies where someone could hurt you or cause you to go into labor. Other health problems, can hurt rather than help so go get a medical release form from the doctor before getting a massage. Each state has different laws and requirements to be a massage therapist. Check what your states laws are and ask to see the massage therapist's diplomas and ask questions. Don't be afraid to call and verify that the massage therapist went to school at the facility and if you can talk to a former instructor. Most massage therapist are great but some are not. Protect yourself if the massage therapist is massaging to hard tell them. They should be trained to see pain: if a person breaths hard, quenches or become tense during a massage. Good massage therapist will ask questions like do you have a health problem before we get started. Or what is bothering you today. Before starting they may state if I massage to hard or soft please don't be scared to tell me. They may ask a few more times how there pressure is during the massage. If you don't feel comfortable at anytime through any part of the session tell the massage therapist you want to stop.
