Having grown up in Boston (Dorchester) the idea of being on a bicycle there frightens me - The reputation Boston has for 'bad' drivers - everyone driving as though they were a taxe driver- is, in my experience, earned! I think I'd feel unsafe - especially anywhere near one of those nefarious rotaries!

I like the photo. Was it there before? If so, I must have missed it.

I agree. For those who can bicycle, rentals can be a super way to get around Boston. The city is actively promoting bicycle paths and parking a car can be a major pain. Bicycles are so much easier plus you have the overnight option and discounts if you keep them for more than one day. Compare gas costs to pedal power and I think bikes come out ahead for health benefits and cost in many cases. They are certainly convenient. Of course, one has to watch for motorists and use common sense - but that is a given. Super article!
