about an hour north of New York City. It is only a few minutes off the highway, but when entering the village you would never know it. It is set in rolling hills of Orange County, and it is located on a beautiful piece of land surrounded by trees and valleys.

This museum is set in the 1800's, and when you enter into it you will feel as if it really were that time period. The museum is made up of several buildings, and all of the buildings are constructed to be true to the time period. There is a printmaking building, a candle making workshop, a drug store, weave shop. a livery, a real working blacksmith shop, and a log cabin. All of these buildings are accompanied by a trained interpreter that will tell you about the museum and the many interesting things you will find there. The interpreters will explain how the life of a person in the 1800's was led.

The most unique part of the log cabin is that it is an actual artifact itself, and there is a story behind it. All of the buildings are filled with artifacts that were collected by the museum's founder. The print shop has real printing presses and you will be able to see the printer at work printing posters. If you are lucky you will be able to keep one for yourself. You can make a candle at the candle shop, and you will be able to bring one home with you to remember the museum. The blacksmith shop is another great building to check out because the blacksmith will explain to you the process of iron forging. All of the buildings have great historical value and all of the interpreters will answer any questions you have.
