2008 Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet Rankings: Quarterback

All rankings are based off of a standard head to head scoring system (touchdowns, interception, yards, fumbles) in mixed AFC/NFC leagues.

For sleeper, breakout, and bust player picks, check out the key below.

BUST = player will register far below their 2007 stat totals
BREAKOUT = player will surpass expectations and/or have a career year in 2008

SLEEPER = player will be a late round pick or go undrafted and has a good chance of producing fantasy worthy stats in 2008

Good Luck to Everyone This Fantasy Football Season!

QUARTERBACK RANKINGS

1. Tom Brady - New England Patriots
Last year's #1 rated quarterback should maintain his hold as the best fantasy quarterback in the entire NFL during the 2008 season. Brady passed for an astounding 50 touchdowns in 2007, however expecting that number in 2008 is somewhat unrealistic. Yet even though 50 touchdown passes may not be in the works, 40 touchdown passes is a good bet.

2. Peyton Manning - Indianapolis Colts
As a former #1 fantasy quarterback, Manning has been as steady of a producer as you could ever wish for in fantasy football. With Manning there is no doubt what you will get with him, and I do not expect anything to change in 2008. Manning is probably the safest pick you can make at quarterback.

3. Tony Romo - Dallas Cowboys
The decision between Romo and Carson Palmer at the number 3 spot is a tough call. However because of Dallas' big time play makers Terrell Owens, Marion Barber, and Jason Witten, Romo should once again thrive in his surroundings and put up great fantasy stats in 2008.

4. Carson Palmer - Cincinnati Bengals BREAKOUT

This time last year Palmer was often rated as the second best quarterback behind Peyton Manning. Yet with an explosive team in Cincinnati (both on and off the field), Palmer suffered through most of the 2007 season. However if some of that explosiveness (on the field that is) can return, with the likes of Rudi Johnson, TJ Houshmandzadeh and possibly even the best player of the bunch Chad Johnson, Palmer could once again return to fantasy greatness in 2008.

5. Drew Brees - New Orleans Saints

Very True. I will agree with you that Rosenfels did a great job last year. However who do you think has a better chance to actually play this year....Rosenfels or Henne? I'm guessing Henne. However if I drafted Schaub on my team this year, then I would definitely want Rosenfels as a backup over Henne. Yet in the overall scheme of things, I think Henne has a better upside and potential to play this year which is why I ranked him ahead of Rosenfels. Sound good? Thanks for the comment though :) I appreciate your insight!

Rosenfels played well enough in relief of Schaub to merit a higher ranking than 40. Do you really think Henne would do better as a rookie on a terrible team than Rosenfels?
