Spinal Disc Decompression: New Surgery Alternative

Spinal Disc Decompression is a new treatment available for those suffering from several types of spinal injury and pain. Spinal Disc Decompression has been shown effective for relieving symptoms of herniated disc(s), degenerative disc(s),
Facet syndrome, sciatica, post-surgical and spinal stenosis. Spinal Disc Decompression therapy is a non-surgical treatment that emphasizes traction and stretching of the spine and spinal vertebrae. The procedure is comfortable and switches between distraction and relaxation. Spinal Disc Decompression uses negative pressure to "pull the nucleus back into place".

To better understand the benefits of Spinal Disc Decompression one needs to understand the conditions in which it may help.

A herniated disc occurs when the soft tissue between two vertebrae becomes "pushed out" of its assigned space in the spinal column. Spinal Disc Decompression helps stretch the spine so that the herniated disc can "retract" and heal itself. A herniated disc can occur in anyone of any age and is typically due to injury.

Degenerative discs are similar to herniated discs in a pathological standpoint. When a disc is injured it becomes weakened and sensitive to daily wear and tear. The daily wear and tear causes the spinal disc to break down or degenerate. Spinal Disc Decompression can aid in strengthening and lengthening the muscles of the spine which in turn helps slow down the degenerative process.

Facet syndrome is an irritation of the joint(s) of the spinal column (and vertebrae). Facet syndrome is mostly caused by injuries such as whiplash. Spinal Disc Decompression can be used to stretch the spine which in turn relieves pressure on the vertebrae.

Sciatica is not a condition in itself. It is usually a symptom of a larger problem such as a spinal discs pinching the sciatic nerve. In disc herniation the disc protrudes through the spinal column and often presses on a nerve. Spinal Disc Decompression can be used for sciatica to help eliminate the herniated disc problem. When the herniated disc is healed sciatica symptoms often significantly decrease and sometimes can completely go away.

I know someone who has sciatica...dreadfully painful! Hopefully, she has the opportunity for this procedure to be done.
