Watermelon is a sweet summer treat that many consider one of their favorite parts of summer. The attractive appearance of the fruit as well as the juicy goodness makes watermelon the perfect snack or after dinner dessert to serve at summer barbecues. When the cold winter winds begin to blow again, you can be reminded of the carefree days of summer with a fun and festive watermelon themed kitchen.

How to Decorate Your Kitchen in a Watermelon Theme: Wall color. A watermelon themed redecorating project should begin with painting your kitchen walls a clean fresh white. Choose a washable paint to make cleanup in the kitchen easier and keep your walls looking their very whitest and brightest. You can accent the white by painting your kitchen cabinet doors a deep red and continuing that color on any doors or window sills you have in your kitchen. A red baker's rack will also look lovely in your watermelon themed kitchen and keep cooking essentials organized and on hand.

How to Decorate Your Kitchen in a Watermelon Theme: Stencils. Add splashes of color to your white walls by stenciling whole or cut watermelon images around the kitchen. Craft stores carry all the items you need to make stenciling very easy and cost effective. Choose an attractive watermelon stencil design, one small and one medium sized brush and green, red and black stencil paint. Dive in and don't worry about any missteps or inconsistencies in your technique. It will only serve to give your kitchen a more unique and rustic look.

How to Decorate Your Kitchen in a Watermelon Theme: Tablecloth And Linens. Cover your kitchen table with a festive and colorful watermelon themed tablecloth. Look in Target, TJ Maxx and Walmart for watermelon themed kitchen linens. You can also opt for a red or red or white tablecloth and dishtowels to brighten your kitchen. Install hooks over your stove or under your kitchen cabinets and display your watermelon themed dishtowels for show and handy use. A pair of oven mitts with pictures of juicy slices of watermelon attached to your stove or dishwasher with suction cups will look adorable.

Love it! Some day I'm going to have a bright yellow sun room, with white wicker furniture done in yellow and white gingham with watermelon pillows for accents. (As it stands, I don't have a sun room at all.. but I like to have my dreams.)
