These simple decoupaged scented Christmas candles are a great gift that kids can make for their teachers, parents, and even grandparents. Kids of all ages will really feel like an artist using decoupage to embellish and decorate simple candle votives with their own artwork.This simple Christmas gift craft project should take the kids less than an hour and only cost you about $4 per candle. To Make these Simple Decoupage scented Christmas candles You Will Need:
Glade Candles (in the glass jar)
Christmas ribbon (optional)
Old Christmas Cards (optional)
Magazine Cut Outs (optional)
White Paper (optional)
Decoupage
Paint brushed (small ones)
Miscellaneous paper images
OK, the first step is probably the most involved in this simple Christmas craft gift project. The kids need lots of holiday images to decoupage onto their scented candles. They can draw their own creations on white paper or construction pear. You could also have the kids cut out images from old Christmas cards. Christmas coloring books are also a great source for inexpensive Christmas art.
Now, once the art work is chosen have the kids carefully cut It out. This is a great time to let kids use a ruler to measure how tall the glass candle votive is a make sure they measure out their images before hand.
Now, paint some decoupage onto the back of the cut out Christmas images with the paint brush. Lay the artwork onto he glass jar of the Christmas candle jar. Now, use the paint brush to paint a layer of decoupage on top of the artwork.
