Millions of people enjoy keeping up with the activities of their favorite celebrities. Thus, the celebrity tabloid industry takes in billions of dollars year. For three or four dollars you can head to any supermarket checkout lane and pick up a celebrity tabloid chock full of color photos and gossip about popular actors and musicians. Teenage girls may find themselves drawn to these magazines and their splashy content. Should you allow your teenage daughter to indulge int these celebrity tabloids? Read on to see why this may be harmful to your daughter's development and views on the world.

Celebrity Tabloids Offer A Skewed Reflection Of Healthy Relationships. A marriage in Hollywood that lasts more than five years is considered an anomaly. Celebrities seem to change partners at the drop of a hat. Breakups, hookups and affairs are frequently reported in a casual way that neglects to acknowledge the painful repercussions that result from the constant changing of partners. No magazine can take the place of the morals and values imparted by the family, however, the unending stories of complicated and unstable relationships of celebrities teens look up to can affect their opinions on commitment.

Celebrity Tabloids Can Negatively Affect Your Teen's Body Image. celebrities are encouraged to be as thin as possible, with a size zero being the norm. Thankfully, this trend seems to be changing, but not fast enough. Staring at pictures of stick thin models and actresses may cause your teen to believe that is the only standard of beauty. Although adults know that celebrities do not represent the average woman and that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, teens are far more impressionable.

Totally agree with you. It's amazing how one gets hooked to things which are wrong for us and shirk from doing things which are good.
